Greta girl gets baptized.

Greta was baptized yesterday at Westminster Presbyterian with Pastor Val presiding. It was a cold day with a high of -3, so needless to say, the congregation was about half full. As always, Val's sermon was touching, it focused on the need to celebrate and protect our children. Just as she started, Greta gave a quick cry and Val said, "yes Greta, we are talking about you." The congregation loved it. Sullivan was busy, he stood with us at the front during the ceremony, chomping on gummies and begging to splash in the baptismal waters. What a character.

Great wore a baptism gown which my mom had made for my sister Liz when she was baptized. It was about 4 feet long and the detail was amazing. It is great to be able to use an heirloom for this type of occasion. I know that when we tell Greta about her baptism when she is a little girl, she will love to hear all about it and see photos of herself in this adorable little number.

We chose Lauren and Elliot as Greta's sponsors. They were so flattered. They will be excellent role models for our kids. We have no doubt that they will have a constant presence in both Greta and Sullivan's life.

We had brunch here following the service which was really nice. There were about 20 of us. We had plenty of food and a fire in the fireplace. This house is so perfect for us, we love it more and more everyday.
