Greta stars in her second grade musical.

The second graders put on their musical at school and Greta was so excited. She wouldn't practice at home because she wanted it to be a surprise. She is so sweet. She was on a train exploring all of the countries their teachers represent in Central and South America. There was music and dancing, the kids did a great job.

Twins Win!

We ventured to Minneapolis with Lor an Alexa for a quick weekend. We left right from school and made great timing, arriving in time for pizza at Giradano's (not my idea), before returning to our rental in south Minneapolis. We stayed in the cutest little house near Cedar Lake, the neighborhood was so quaint and it it fit our group perfectly.

Dave and I woke up on Saturday morning ready to get out and explore. We walked to this fabulous bakery called YUM!, but were surprised with a thunderstorm that wouldn't quit. Sully was in heaven, running and giggling thought the rain, Dave and the girls were mad, I was on a mission to get to the restaurant. A lovely lady picked Piper and I up for the final few blocks while Dave, Sully, and Greta ran the rest of the way. We arrived soaking wet and enjoyed a lovely breakfast while attempting to dry off. We had a nice walk home along the lake and returned for some much needed regrouping before the game.

We had the MOST fun at the Twins game. We really wanted to bring Lor to an MLB game before he left town and we were happy to find an available weekend. We kept a close eye on the weather and it looked terrible, all we could do was hope for a break in the rain. Much to our surprise, that's exactly what we got, heavy clouds turned into blue sky and we had a Julie afternoon, just as I brought this to Dave's attention, the Twins scored a home run, the kids were delighted with firecrackers and celebration. We gave a nod to Julie, we knew she was right there with us... and then it happened again... another HOME RUN! More fanfare... we FEEL you Julie, how couldn't we!? The Twins won, Lor (all of us) had an incredible experience and we made our way to dinner after, which is when the clouds rolled in absolutely poured rain.

We made our way back for a quick dip in the hot tub and then returned after brunch on Sunday. It was a great weekend and I want to go to Twins all the time now. ;)

Soaking wet, but smiling.

A quick Earth Day clean up while we were there.

Easter (Burrrrr)!

Easter, once again, was a hit. The kids were thrilled with the Easter Bunny's arrival and all followed the strict Easter rule: No One Wakes Up Before 8. But once they were up, it was all fun and excitement. EB delivered his usual goods (summertime items, swimwear, flip flops, books, and a small toy) and the egg hunt was extra hard this year, in fact, I think some of the eggs are still hidden. It was also Lor's first experience with an egg hunt. I'm sure all of these traditions are mind blowing. As I explain the holidays, it just makes it so much more apparent about how American's commercialize everything. It's the way it is, but oh my gosh! Greta continues with her intuitive questions, "how did Jesus rise from the dead, can we all do that?"

We went out to the Willard Farm for lunch and spent our time in the J.Coop. It was windy and snowy and miserable and cold outside. We made the most of it, Sully even kicked the soccer ball around a bit, but it was really not pleasant. The food and company was great and we were happy to get home and into our warm beds for an Easter afternoon nap.

Just another angle. ;)

Keeping busy in the J. Coop.

Hats and mittens and winter coats.

Cold and all, the farm is still the best place to
celebrate Easter.

Catching up with the Connelly cousins.

Leave it to Mag, never missing an opportunity to take a cousin photo. :) The occasion this time was Isaac's 14th birthday, how is he 14? Happy birthday, bud! Be nice to your mom ;).

Hadestown and Creighton

Who knew? Hadestown was coming to Omaha! We certainly didn't, until we happened to stumble upon the Omaha Orpheum website and then we couldn't get tickets fast enough. We snatched up a few and hit the road a few days later. We did so many of my favorite things... spent time in the Old Market, had dinner at Zio's, caught Hadestown (which was fantastic), got ice cream from Ted and Wally's and the following day, we wandered around Creighton's campus. It was so fun to show the kids and Lor my old school, they were all so impressed. We stopped in the book store on our way out of town and everyone found something and we are now the poster children for Creighton. It was a quick overnight trip but fun for all, I'm so glad we did it.
