15 1/2 weeks, but who's counting?

It is hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner. Things have been busy, (and fun!) around here. We have held Christmas as a turning point, a baby turning point that is. We are anxious to get going on the nursery, which we will begin "sometime after Christmas," so... as early as next week already...EEK! I am actually really excited to see the transformation of our second bedroom, stay tuned, I'll definitely post before and after pictures.

I have been feeling pretty good. I am still off work due to lifting and activity restrictions placed by my OB. I have been off for three weeks already, and Im antsy to get back. I have appointment on December 27th, so I'm banking on some good news. My stomach is starting to move outward and Im looking more pregnant each day, although to those that don't know, Im sure I just look as though I have put on a few Christmas pounds. In Maggie's words, I "just need to get over it," I am, after all, growing a baby in there!

On that note, I think Ill go have another Christmas treat ;).

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

So far, so good!

Above is an older picture, but one we think is really cool. It was taken at 9 weeks 5 days, and if you look close, you can actually see each of the little toes. The U/S tech assumed the foot was about 1/2 cm at the time of this photo.

I did have a minor (ok, it seemed major at the time) scare on Sunday morning. We went into the hospital and had an ultrasound, long enough to see the baby bouncing around and to see an excellent heart beat. It turns out I had a small tear in my placenta, because of this, my doctor has me on lifting restrictions which means I cannot work. So, I have been taking it easy. I have another check on December 13th, I anticipate she will send me back to work.

We had an appointment at 11 weeks and met with our regular OB, then had our first trimester screen done this morning, I am 12 weeks and 4 days. What a relief to hear the doctor say 'everything looks perfect.'

Thats all for now, here's to expanding waist lines and elastic!

Blogging...something I have never thought to actually do myself, although I do stalk the blogs of people I know. I never felt I had a sufficient topic to blog about... until now. With the encouragement of my sister and a few friends, I am taking the leap into the blogging world. After all, what a great way to document our life, and the changes that are about to come.

We are having a baby!

As many of you know, we have had a challenging time to get to where we are today. After heartache and heartbreak in January, we are happy to report that our life, as we know it, will officially be turned upside down, and we are totally ok with it.

So, stay tuned, I hope to update on a regular basis. :)
