We returned from our adventure two Saturdays ago (gasp...time is flying and I can't catch up!) and had a really actually perfect travel day, all flights were on time or maybe even a few minutes early. We arrived in Sioux Falls at 8:30pm and were home by 9 and ready to melt into our beds. It was really great to be home again.
I had no idea how to proceed with school as we had missed the first week so was anxious to get them started but wasn't sure how they would do with jet lag and everything else. We bit the bullet and sent them both on Monday. Sully resumed speech and Greta got to start preschool. So exciting, until drop off :/. She was a nervous nelly when she realized Sully wouldn't be going to school with her. Ugh, poor girl. She was devastated and it only got worse as the week went on, until Friday when she met her first friend, Lucy. (Yay for Lucy!!). Monday was better, especially since she met her SECOND friend, Nora. Mega relief, she is going to rock preschool. It is so helpful that she already knows Miss Heather and Miss Trina. Sully, on the other hand is a rockstar. He is so excited to be back with his friends and teachers, he hardly even looks back- gasp! I've been waiting a long time for this. With Greta going MWF mornings and Sully going MTWT afternoons, I'm constantly coming and going. Its going to be a busy and fun year.
In other news, Sully started soccer and was so excited. His team name is the Jawbreakers and he had so much fun at his first practice. We also had our first soccer game and first rain out, we were there long enough to get situated and then poured on. We had our second soccer game this morning and were so excited to have a fun audience, a surprise showing from Matt and Cassandra as well as Anna and Jeff. Sully is so fun to watch. He keeps a safe distance from the ball and the group at all times :).
Piper has had her first couple of solo sessions at Miss Jaspers and has been doing great. Pass off is always a bit of a challenge, but once she is settled she does great.
Jet lag lasted a solid four day- yikes, really early mornings and tired kids. Fortunately Dave was able to book a transition week into the time off- mega lifesaver.
