Avera 5K and Mother's Day weekend

We had a full and FUN Mother's Day weekend.

The highlight of the weekend was definitely the Avera 5k. Dave had trained with Sully and Anna all spring in anticipation of the big event. When the forecast called for 100 percent chance of rain all day, we were all sad, but hopeful for a dry window, and a dry window was what we got. What a relief. While Sully, Dave, and Anna ran, Greta, Piper, and I did the family fun walk, and Maggie was on photo duty. We hustled on our walk (scooter ride for Piper) in order to make it to the finish line to see them cross. Everyone was full of joy and pride as they accomplished their goals. We all had a lot of fun and are excited to do it again next year.

Mother's Day was nice, low key. I was spoiled with breakfast in bed and gifts from the kids followed by brunch with my family at my parents' house and then came home for naps and quiet time, We finished it up with a fire in the fireplace in the sunroom and Indian food on the couch. My kids simply bring me so much joy. I love the phase of life we are in, we have our fair share of drama and stress, but for the most part, we are all moving in the same direction. I love the way I can communicate with them, how Piper is my sassy but still innocent and silly 7 year old who finds opportunities to drop everything and roll down a hill and has a great sense of humor. I love Greta and her attention to tasks, her fashion interest, Taylor Swift obsession, and professional bracelet making skills, and Sully, his growing confidence, love of sports, "YES!" attitude, and the greatest question asker "mom, what do you like more, tacos or peanut butter cups?" That answer is impossible, by the way. And of course thankful for Dave, who continues to put us first, who works hard at his job and is so good at it, and is also a professional fun haver when he isn't working. Life is really good, and Im thankful for where we are.

Welcome Baby Emmett

We are thrilled for the Fey family as they welcomed a baby boy, Emmett Al on May 7th. We are loving all of the babies on Dave's side of the family and know there is loads of fun to be had as these little ones grow. We are so thankful to be a part of it.

Florida Fun with my Girls

I snuck away to Florida for a girl's getaway and it was exactly what I needed. We walked, talked, swam, enjoyed good food, lots of heartfelt conversation and a bit of flight drama. I traveled with some favorite friends and am thankful for our time together, until next time!

Post work out selfie at our rental.

Razz, getting it done.

Fancy dinner out.

MPLS Easter 2023

We had the best Easter adventure in Minneapolis. We stayed in an AirBnB that had plenty of space, so on a whim, invited the Olivers to join us and the start aligned.

We stayed in a really great lake house on Lake Minnetonka and loved having the space and an extended stay. We played games, puzzled, rode bikes, went for long lunches, had ice cream, went to a Twins game, brunched, watched the Masters, made tik toks, and enjoyed and unexpected surprise at the end.

The kids loved having each other and the adults loved having each other. We are thankful for the time we had and look forward to more adventures like it in the future.

Welcome Jack Schock!

We are thrilled for Matt and Cassandra and the arrival of Jack Martin Schock. After much anticipation, he made his grand entry on April 1st, he shares his birthday with his Grandpa Paul and Isaac Oliver. We could hardly wait to snuggle him. Congrats to Matt and Cass, what a gift!

Let's go Bluejays!

We had so much fun cheering on the Bluejays this year in the NCAA March Madness tournament and were so excited to see them make it as far as they did. We dug out our Creighton gear and wore it proudly, even Dave, who rarely gets excited about spots on TV was up cheering at the TV and hollering at the refs. Plus it made for excuses to hang out with the Olivers multiple times each week. ;). Here's to hoping next year is as much fun as this year. #proudcreightongrad
